In the field of Web Serving, Linux is greatly used. Almost 60% of all Internet websites run using an Open Source program that is known as “Apache.” Apache in most cases run on Linux. In Networking, you can use Linux. This is because, Linux is based on Unix- the operating system developed in the early 1970s to run the Internet. Linux can be used both to run some parts of the Internet, it can also be used to run small and large networks in corporate sectors, offices and even in homes. As Linux is unwavering and robust, it is ideal for storing vast databases of information. Linux because of its steadiness and flexibility can largely be used at homes and work computers.

Several dozens of Linux systems can be huddled together to work on a single task, thus Linux can be utilized in scientific computing. A large number of PC’s that are not very expensive can be run on Linux and you can get a powerful service at a negligible cost. And of course, people with their computers at home can work with Linux without any hassles.
